About us

In March 2011, Connecticut became a partner with the Pew-MacArthur Results First Initiative, supported by the Pew Charitable Trusts and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.  Connecticut is one of 17 states and four California counties participating in the Results First project that uses an innovative cost-benefit analysis approach to help policymakers identify and invest in policies and programs that are evidence-based and proven to work.

Results First in Connecticut is administered by the staff of the Central Connecticut State University’s Institute for Municipal and Regional Policy, under the direction of the Results First Policy Oversight Committee, pursuant to PA 13-247.  The Institute promotes the inventory and analysis of the costs and benefits of investments in public programs; provides information about Results First to state executive and legislative branch agencies, policymakers, and interested stakeholders; and coordinates studies of specific evidence-based programs in selected agencies.
